Alina Habba, interim U.S. attorney for New Jersey, was booed as she appeared for Newark Mayor Ras Baraka's first court appearance after being arrested for allegedly trespassing at a federal immigration detention facility.
Onlookers could be heard booing and chanting "Shame! Shame!" as Habba walked into the federal courthouse in Newark on Thursday.
"There's no real case here, there's nothing real here, there's no there there," Baraka told reporters outside the courthouse.

Habba declined to make any remarks.
Politico described the hearing as "perfunctory," with a schedule being set for future action against the mayor.
"But Habba's appearance to jeers from Baraka supporters when she entered the courthouse suggests the government is not going to drop the charges," the report noted.
