Roseanne Barr on Wednesday hailed former president Donald Trump, saying she recently had the opportunity to put her hands on her hero and political inspiration.

Barr, speaking at Trump's rally before the ex-president was due on the stage, shouted "God bless America" and spoke about going to Mar-a-Lago recently to get a photo taken with Trump.

"It was so exciting I could hardly control myself," she said on the stage. "I went in there and I was just, I grabbed at him, you know. He just kind of gently rearranged my arm so nicely."

She then says she could have been shot by Secret Service.

"Ah I love you!" she groaned Wednesday.

"I was able to touch him and hug him and it meant so much to me," she said, before saying she's a Jew. Barr has in the past been accused of anti-Semitic remarks.

"When I touched him my hands were filled with all the love that you all have given me," she added. "I gave him 99% of it and I just said I love you so much. You are our inspiration and our hero," the actress said.
