Joe Biden delivered a speech in North Carolina. But he couldn't jet back to D.C. without a treat.
After President Joe Biden spoke about bringing high-speed internet to 16,000 homes and businesses in North Carolina, he pit stopped at Cook Out in Raleigh on Thursday.
“High-speed internet isn’t a luxury anymore. It’s an absolute necessity,” he said. “The investment in high-speed internet means something else as well: good-paying jobs.”
As he was making his exit from the Tar Heel State, he had to get some grub.
Video posted on RNC Research, which is managed by the Republican National Committee, shows the Commander-in-Chief flanked by Secret Service standing at the order window on the Falls of Neuse Road burger joint at about 3 p.m.
Biden would wash it down by ordering a “black and white” milkshake that was “triple thick” — a vanilla shake blended with chocolate syrup, according to reports.

“The governor was bragging about your place,” Biden informed some Cook Out staffers at the eatery. “He said ‘you have the best shakes in North Carolina.’”
North Carolina State Sen. Phil Berger took notice of the hiked prices of Cook Out's menu, posting a tweet suggesting a "tray costs 28% more than it did three years ago when Biden [had] his previous photo op."
Berger likely is referring back to 2020, when Biden, long seen stopping on the stump for an ice cream scoop fix, bought vanilla and chocolate shakes from another location in Durham.
The images accompanying the tweet circle in red a tray of food (presumably from 2020) costing $5.69 and hiked to today's $7.69.
Others weren't feeling the triple thick sweetness.
"There’s an invasion on our southern border and Joe Biden is coming to NC to order milkshakes," reads a tweet by Josh McConkey. "There’s a reason Biden is the most failed president of my lifetime."
Some came to Biden's aid.
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) said that it was a pointless attack at the president for grabbing food.
"I don’t always retweet MAGA Republican propaganda, but when I do I prefer @RNCResearch," he tweeted. "With record job creation and strong wage growth under Biden, the MAGA folks are now forced to make dumb attacks on Biden."
Law professor Anthony Michael Kreis also chimed in, sarcastically writing, "IMPEACH. REMOVE. DISQUALIFY."
