The Wall Street Journal confirmed Thursday evening that former President Bill Clinton also contributed a letter to deceased financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein's book of birthday well-wishes in 2003, where he was included alongside President Donald Trump in a group listed as his friends.

"It’s reassuring isn’t it, to have lasted as long, across all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible word], and also to have your childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference and the solace of friends," said Clinton's handwritten note to Epstein.

Clinton's relationship with Epstein, much like Trump's, has been widely known for years, with the former president taking trips on Epstein's private plane.

Neither Clinton nor Trump has been criminally implicated in Epstein's scheme to traffic children; however, both have been separately accused of sexual misconduct in unrelated cases, with Trump having been found liable for sexual abuse of advice writer E. Jean Carroll by jurors in New York.

All of this comes after previous reporting that detailed Trump's alleged lewd letter to Epstein containing a doodle of a naked woman and the words, “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.” Trump has denied authorship of the letter and is suing the Wall Street Journal over that story.

Trump's administration is broadly in damage control mode as his base has revolted over his failure to make good on promises to fully disclose all files from the Epstein case, which occurred under his previous administration and was cut short when Epstein was found dead of suicide in his cell awaiting trial.

This was further exacerbated by new reporting that Trump was alerted by the Justice Department in May that his name appears in the Epstein case files.
