Brian Glenn, the pro-MAGA White House correspondent dating Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), argued that House Republicans should not censure Rep. Al Greene (D-TX) for his outburst at President Donald Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress.

Glenn opposed censuring Greene in a Thursday interview on Real America's Voice despite his girlfriend's vote against tabling the motion on Wednesday.

"My take on this is probably not going to be popular," Glenn admitted. "I don't think that we should be censuring him for that. I just don't."

"I think that should be reserved for much harsher penalties or things that someone might do in line of office, fundraising, campaign violations, or anything outside of that," he continued. "What he did, uh, I think in the, in the, the reaction that, that the Americans got from it, is much damaging to him than a censure would be."

Glenn argued that censuring Green would set a precedent: "That's just something we're going to throw out every time someone disagrees with, uh, the president or anybody that sits in the chamber there."

"So I'm not a big fan of it," he insisted. "I'm just — doing censures, I understand it. But personally, I wouldn't get behind that."

The Republican representative who Glenn is dating is known for making loud outbursts during former President Joe Biden's State of the Union speeches.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) signaled Thursday that he supported the motion to censure Green.

"Rep. Al Green's shameful and egregious behavior during President Trump's Joint Address disgraced the institution of Congress and the constituents he serves," he wrote on X. "He deliberately violated House rules, and an expeditious vote of censure is an appropriate remedy. Any Democrat who is concerned about regaining the trust and respect of the American people should join House Republicans in this effort."
