Sen. Bill Cassidy, a Republican and ally to President Donald Trump, is reportedly "struggling" with supporting a key Trump nominee.
Cassidy recently confronted Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump's pick to lead the health department, with questions about vaccines during Kennedy's initial confirmation hearing.
Cassidy, a former medical doctor, asked Kennedy if he would follow the already established data on childhood inoculations.

CNN medical correspondent Meg Tirrell reported on Saturday that Cassidy is "struggling" with supporting Kennedy. The news network's host then brought on congressional reporter Lindsey McPherson, who was in the room as Kennedy was being grilled by senators.
McPherson said the questions about vaccines and other topics are "holding Kennedy back," but that it's too soon to tell if they will "cripple" his eventual confirmation.
On Trump-loyal Cassidy supporting Kennedy, McPherson said, "He's struggling with this." She then outlined how his vote could make the difference when there are a few other swing votes still being looked at.
