Paramount-owned cable network Comedy Central pulled a recent episode of "South Park" that featured conservative activist Charlie Kirk after he was killed on a university campus on Wednesday, according to a new report.
The Desk, a business publication focused on the streaming platform, reported on Thursday that Comedy Central had removed the episode, which aired in the show's 27th season. In the episode, the protagonist Eric Cartman parodies Kirk as a conservative podcaster who debates kids at school.
The "South Park" episode featuring Kirk is still available on Paramount+, according to the report.
The report also notes that Kirk "reacted positively" to the episode when it first aired.
“There’s going to be a lot said about this, but we need to have a good spirit about being made fun of. This is all a success, this is all a win,” the report quotes from one of Kirk's TikTok videos. “We as conservatives, we have thick skin, not thin skin. You can make fun of us, and it doesn’t matter. And until next time, I hope all of you become master debaters for truth.”
Kirk, 31, was the co-founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, a conservative student group with chapters nationwide. He was shot in the neck during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
