MAGA influencer Candace Owens' explanation on Tuesday for why conservative activist Charlie Kirk was murdered at a Utah university campus last week shocked an analyst.

Owens floated a theory about Kirk's murder on a new episode of her podcast on Tuesday, claiming that Kirk may have been killed by Israel because he spoke out about some of the country's actions. Owens also implied that hedge fund owner Bill Ackman staged an "intervention" designed to save Kirk's life.

"Threats were made," Owens said of the alleged intervention. "That is what I am told, and I will tell you that I am very happy for Bill Ackman to dispute this narrative."

Emma Vigeland, co-host of the liberal podcast "The Majority Report," responded to Owens' theory on a new episode Tuesday night.

"I find this reporting fascinating, I really do!" Vigeland said. "But what she's implying is way too far. She's using this language that is really heavily influenced by her emotions about the situation, which I imagine is quite rational. But she's talking about this in terms that are histrionic."

Vigeland mentioned reporting from The Jerusalem Post and other outlets that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has met with multiple right-wing podcasters because he is concerned about Israel's image in America.

"I don't doubt that meeting was impactful, but I am a little surprised by the conclusion that she is drawing here," Vigeland said.
