Former President Donald Trump is hitting back at one-time supporter Chris Christie, who encouraged fellow Republicans over the weekend to move on from the 2020 presidential election.

In an angry statement released on Monday, Trump trashed Christie for saying that the GOP needed to look forward instead of backward.

"Chris Christie... was just absolutely massacred by his statements that Republicans have to move on from the past, meaning the 2020 Election Fraud," Trump wrote, referring to the false claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him by President Joe Biden.

Trump then went on to slam Christie for his tenure as New Jersey governor.

"Everybody remembers that Chris left New Jersey with a less than 9% approval rating," he wrote. "A record low, and they didn't want to hear this from him!"
