The Colorado Supreme Court justices who ruled to bump former President Donald Trump from the ballot have already been inundated with violent threats that include the warning “this ends when we kill these f---ers,” and that could spell trouble for the entire nation, a former FBI official warns.

Former FBI official Frank Figliuzzi said in a column for MSNBC Friday that those threats — which include threats of beheadings and to "slam dunk a judge’s baby into the trashcan" — are only going to keep coming.

As reported by Figliuzzi, these posts seem more than just idle talk: "Other messages discussed precisely how to kill the justices and other supposed enemies, including using bombs, hollow-point ammunition, rifles and ropes."

The timing, he says, couldn't be worse.

"Our nation’s threat level is already high with tangible concerns over how the Israel-Hamas war will inspire attacks," warned Figliuzzi. "Now, with the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision, security concerns are even more heightened."

The more the FBI must monitor violent threats on the internet, the less manpower and "precious resources" are available to protect Americans from "violent gangs, organized crime, burglars, corrupt executives, spies and international terrorists," he concludes.

"It targets our justice system and our ability as a nation to preserve it," wrote Figliuzzi.

He fears ramping up court security and pursuing legal action against the those issuing threats, "might mean the difference between securing our future as a country of laws and letting it slip away."
