A county executive in New York asked staffers if they knew who he was after arriving too late to board his flight for the Democratic National Convention because he took a detour to grab Chick-fil-A food, according to a report.
The Times Union reported on Wednesday that Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy, "who is seeking to be next CEO of Albany airport" used his name to try to pressure an airline employee to let him board the flight, despite the gate having closed.
The report said he name-dropped in an effort to have the gate re-opened so he and deputy county executive Michael McLaughlin could fly to Chicago on Monday.

A spokesperson for McCoy told the newspaper she couldn't comment on what happened, but added, "No county funds are being used for the trip to the convention."
The Times-Union reported that McCoy had arrived at the gate early, but left to get Chick-fil-A food and the gate closed while he was away. The report cited a witness.
