A Maryland man used a banned flamethrower to burn the words "Trump" and "USA" into the middle of a road and investigators tied him to the crime after a TikTok video showed him igniting the words using a flammable liquid, fire officials said.
Investigators were called to Hickory Hollow Drive in Glen Burnie, Maryland, on Nov. 15 for a report of property destruction, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said in a news release. There they found the words "Trump" and "USA" charred on the street.

Investigators watched a TikTok video showing a man later identified as Craig McQuin using a flamethrower to ignite the two words on the asphalt with an unidentified flammable liquid, fire officials said.
"The video was seen by multiple people in the neighborhood, and that was what led to the investigators to be on his wife's TikTok. They now have custody of the video as part of the evidence of the case," Anne Arundel County Fire Capt. Jenny Macallair told 11 News.
Craig McQuin was subsequently charged Sunday with malicious burning, destruction of property in an amount greater than $1,000 and possessing a destructive device. The flamethrower is "expressly prohibited" in the state, officials said.
