Dem leader drops 'colorful language' in his vow to seize 'gift' given by Trump
MSNBC screen grab

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin dropped some "colorful language" Thursday morning, as he promised that Democrats will take advantage of the "political gift" just handed to them by Donald Trump and congressional Republicans.

Martin appeared on MSNBC ahead of the Republicans' big vote on their megabill spending package. He argued that the bill was a "gift" for Democrats, who plan to seize the opportunity in campaigning against Republicans around the country.

"This is a critical time," he added, calling Trump's admin an "authoritarian regime."

When pressed by host Ali Vitali, who said Trump himself was once hailed as a "gift" for Democrats, Martin dug in deeper, saying the Dems could retake the House and the Senate by emphasizing the bill's impacts.

"It's a fair point," he said, before highlighting just how unpopular the megabill is, according some data.

"We're not going to squander that opportunity," he said, adding that they are "here to fight" and "here to win."

"This bulls--- bill that they see right now in Congress, that's not going to happen if you put Democrats back in Congress," he added.

Vitali said he was getting in some "colorful language" early in the morning.
