On Tuesday afternoon, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency was finally revealed to the conservative news outlet the Washington Examiner.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt faced off against the press as they continued probing the identity of the unnamed head of the department that wasn't created by Congress. She refused to turn over the name on television but said she would tell press outlets privately.

Cabinet positions are generally established in law or statute by Congress and then are funded in the federal budget. DOGE was created by one of President Donald Trump's executive orders.

The White House confirmed to Naomi Lin that Amy Gleason is the administrator of the DOGE initiative, which is tasked with slashing trillions from the federal budget.

Gleason has been described as a top adviser to Elon Musk. She is a former official at the U.S. Digital Service.

Prior to her current role, Gleason served as a Digital Services Expert, a position she held since 2018.

Her background includes experience in healthcare technology and product management, working as chief product officer for various healthcare-related companies.
