The official X account for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) shared an ad for Elon Musk's Tesla company and then quickly deleted it on Monday.

ABC News correspondent Will Steakin first reported that DOGE had shared the video advertisement and called it "awesome."

The official government account urged followers to watch a portion of the video that featured a "Cybertunnel" production area for the company's Cybertruck vehicle.

The post, however, was quickly deleted.

The move came after President Donald Trump recently held a White House event to promote Tesla as the car company faced backlash from the general public. Tesla has seen plunging sales since Musk joined Trump's White House.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has also publicly asked people to buy Tesla stock.
