Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) found himself under fire from President Donald Trump on Friday evening for failing to vote "positively for the Republican Party."
The president took to his Truth Social app to rail against the senator, asking his followers, "Whatever happened to 'Senator' Rand Paul?"
"He was never great, but he went really BAD! I got him elected, TWICE (in the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky!), but he just never votes positively for the Republican Party. He’s a nasty liddle’ guy, much like 'Congressman' Thomas Massie, aka Rand Paul Jr., also of Kentucky (which I won three times, in massive landslides!), a sick Wacko, who refuses to vote for our great Republican Party, MAGA, or America First. It’s really weird!!!" wrote the president.
Paul and Trump were feuding this month over Trump's use of unilateral military force against drug cartels in the Caribbean and the possibility of similar strikes on Venezuela. Paul has criticized the administration's lack of congressional authorization for the lethal strikes and has pushed for checks on presidential war powers.
