Embattled Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) gave an over-the-top speech on Friday to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando.
One particular line caught the eye of MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle after Cruz bragged about it on Twitter.
"The Republican Party is not the party of the country clubs, it's the party of steel workers and construction workers and taxi drivers and cops and firefighters and waitresses," Cruz argued. "That is our party, these deplorables are here to stay!"
"What?" Ruhle asked.
"Donald Trump lives at Mar-a-Lago," Ruhle reminded.
"Eric used to live at Seven Springs and now adjacent to Trump Westchester," she continued. "Ivanka wanted to live at Bedminster but couldn't get permits."
