'Wrong': Trump panned for angry Truth Social screeds after poll finds voters reject liars

Former President Donald Trump unleashed a new conspiracy theory Friday on his social media app about an old foe: former President Barack Obama.

In his usual unhinged and rambling style, Trump touched on President Joe Biden's "really bad" debate performance, and Biden's "unpardonable gaffe" in introducing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as "President Putin."

But the end of the screed contained a new theory from the MAGA leader: Apparently, Obama and Biden can't stand each other, and Obama thinks his former vice president is "dumb" and a "total lightweight."

"OBAMA AND BIDEN HATE EACH OTHER!" Trump declared, (the all-caps text quoted directly from the former president of the United States). "OBAMA NEVER RESPECTED BIDEN, THOUGHT HE WAS DUMB, AND A TOTAL LIGHTWEIGHT. WILL BE AN INTERESTING COUPLE OF WEEKS. OBAMA WANTS HIM OUT, WANTS V.P. HARRIS IN!"

Trump's post comes after a Politico report that Obama talked to Hollywood superstar and Democratic donor George Clooney before Clooney called for Biden to drop out of the race in a New York Times op-ed Wednesday.

The report notably said Obama didn't advise Clooney to call for Biden to step aside, but also didn’t object to it. Obama has publicly backed his old vice president and said he, too, knows what it's like to have a bad debate night.

Trump shot off this barrage of claims on the heels of a new political poll that found voters prefer old candidates to lying ones.

Trump's honesty was, predictably, panned on social media.

"And of course he's never been wrong or dishonest," @TomislavSimich wrote on X.

"Because everything Trump says is true……..," wrote @trich1174·28, adding 10 cry-laughing emojis.

"Trump claims a lot of things that aren't true," wrote @schapdelaine. "So, his claims don't mean anything."

"This from the man who wanted his last VP hung out to dry projection is wild focus on the issues," wrote @zenfinite369.

The MAGA orbit has floated numerous Obama conspiracies, including that Obama is actually running the White House. Last month, Fox News host Maria Bartiromo suggested that Obama was running an operation to replace Biden as the Democratic nominee.

During a discussion with RNC co-chair Lara Trump, Bartiromo wondered how Democrats would remove Biden from the ticket.

"Well, I mean, what about the superdelegates? Right? And all the delegates that have been secured?" Bartiromo said. "Does President Obama run that?"
