Firefighters raced to control a massive fire in downtown Phoenix on Saturday.
"Firefighters are working to control a fire that has spread through multiple recycling yards in Phoenix that ignited Saturday afternoon, the Phoenix Fire Department said. The fire, which is producing large amounts of smoke that can be seen throughout the Valley, is around the intersection of 36th Avenue and Lincoln Street, firefighters said," KPNX-TV reported. "Authorities have asked people to stay away from the area. The fire is threatening five buildings in the area, firefighters said."
The Phoenix Fire Department updated the public on their Twitter account as additional alarms were called.
