Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) was directly confronted on Friday over whether she believes writer E. Jean Carroll's allegations that former President Donald Trump raped her in a department store in the 1990s — and seemed briefly to forget that Trump was already held liable for this by a jury of his peers.
"Do you believe E. Jean Carroll?" ask NBC News correspondent Vaughn Hillyard.
"No, of course not," said Stefanik. "The media is so biased. This is just another example of the media being out of touch."

"It's not the media," Hillyard corrected her. "It's a jury that found he sexually abused E. Jean Carroll."
Trump is currently on the hook for $5 million in damages, subject to appeal. An additional trial is ongoing that could add another round of damages, and Judge Lewis Kaplan has instructed this jury not to revisit the facts of whether Trump sexually abused Carroll, and take that as given.
Trump's attorney Alina Habba has caused controversy throughout the week for a series of questions that tried to go after Carroll's character, as well as clashes with the judge.
