Fox News personality Jimmy Failla lashed out at comedian Ellen DeGeneres Tuesday over remarks she made in support of Minnesotans protesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement, joking that her comments were proof that every ICE protester is a “white lesbian.”
Protesters have taken to the streets of Minneapolis, Minnesota in recent weeks over the ICE killing of Renee Good, with thousands of ICE agents having been deployed to the city by President Donald Trump in response to a controversial investigation into Somali daycares.
“I just wanted to say I am so sorry for what is happening in Minneapolis, and our country, really,” DeGeneres — who moved to England after Trump's election victory — is heard saying in a clip she uploaded to Instagram.
“My thoughts and my prayers are going out to everyone, and I'm proud of everyone who's protesting peacefully, and I am sorry for anyone who has been hurt just for protesting, for doing what you should be doing.”
Failla, an outspoken supporter of Trump, apparently wasn’t pleased with DeGeneres’ expression of solidarity with the anti-ICE protesters, and during an appearance on Fox Business with Stuart Varney, berated the comedian as irrelevant.
“Every time I watch one of these videos, I'm reminded that Instagram needs a button called 'who asked you?' Because nobody was sitting around going 'I wonder what Ellen thinks?'” Failla said.
“This is her attempt to curry favor with the little people and go 'hey, I'm upset like you!' But it just furthers my theory that everyone protesting, for whatever reason, is a white lesbian. We don't need gun control, we need nose-ring control!”
