Tesla CEO and former Trump administration special employee Elon Musk reignited rumors as he wrote a cryptic social media post and shared a report on an alleged threat of physical violence from a White House official.

“Hmm,” Musk wrote on X, sharing a link to a Politico report about Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent allegedly confronting another top Trump official with threats of physical violence.

Musk’s cryptic three-letter post recalls a mysterious black eye he sported on his last day in the Trump administration back in May, which he initially said was the result of “horsing around” with his child. Subsequent reporting, however, would reveal details of an alleged "screaming match” between Musk and Bessent, which the White House later confirmed had devolved into a physical altercation between the two.

Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon, citing his own inside sources, would go on to say the physical altercation kicked off after Musk shoved Bessent following an argument between the two, which presumably led to Bessent punching Musk in the face.

“Did he hit you?” wrote far-right influencer and “proud Islamaphobe” Laura Loomer wrote in response to Musk’s cryptic social media post. “We are all dying to know.”

Other X users piled on Musk’s post, pressing him for answers.

“Come on Elon, spill it,” wrote Wendy Patterson, whose profile includes the phrase “MAGA” and has amassed more than 200,000 followers. “What was your argument with him over?”

Others took to fawning over the tech billionaire, such as X user Mat Gagnon, co-founder of the solar wireless automation company Sentinus.

“So this guy that pretends to have emotional control in interviews actually punched you in the face?” Gagnon wrote. “You took it like a man Elon Musk, much respect.”
