A new report from Rolling Stone offers an insider account into how members of Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency are using threats to get their way in demolishing government agencies.
Specifically, sources inside the federal government say that Musk's DOGE workers are constantly threatening to snitch on any workers who try to defy their demands for access to sensitive government data.
In fact, Rolling Stone's sources say that the DOGE members "have routinely erupted in fury" when questioned by security officials at government agencies and have immediately called up Musk to tattle on them if they don't get their way.
Federal workers who described the situation to Rolling Stone repeatedly described the DOGE employees in scathing terms, with one describing a DOGE official they interacted with as "some child."

“It was so f------ stupid,” another official reportedly told Rolling Stone. “I can’t believe this is how they’re blowing up the Constitution, with this little nerd army... God help us. What else can I say?"
Rolling Stone also reports that DOGE's claims to be rooting out government waste are just a cover for a far different agenda.
"Of course, identifying wasteful spending isn’t the point: DOGE appears to be working mostly toward reducing essential government services, eliminating regulators and consumer protections, and slashing the federal workforce until it’s deeply MAGA, so that the government exclusively serves the interests of the wealthy and Trump," the publication writes.
