Billionaire DOGE administrator Elon Musk was mocked on his X social media platform for misunderstanding the number of senators needed to remove judges who rule against President Donald Trump.
In a post on Tuesday, right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk complained that one judge quoted Hamilton while ordering the military to continue enlisting transgender troops. The move to impeach judges shifted into high gear because U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg issued a temporary restraining order on Trump's ability to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members with a little-used 18th Century law.
"We either have a presidency or we have a rule by 677 gavel-wielding dictators. The Supreme Court must put these judges in place," Kirk wrote.
"This is a judicial coup," Musk added. "We need 60 senators to impeach the judges and restore rule of the people."
Commenters quickly fact-checked Musk by noting that 67 senators would be needed to remove an impeached judge. Republicans currently control the U.S. Senate with a 53-47 majority.

"Nice math, space engineer genius," X commenter Gordita Brett replied.
"When you're such a high-level genius that you think 60 is 2/3rds of 100," Dave Itzkoff jabbed on BlueSky.
Podcaster Jon Favreau also fired back.
"Hey dips---, you'd need 67 Senators, and you're never getting them," he pointed out on X." That's not what a coup is."
"Maybe lay off the k and learn about the government you're trying to break?" Favreau also added.
