Former DOGE administrator Elon Musk called to "kill" the "One Big Beautiful" spending bill in an escalating war with President Donald Trump.

Writing on X Wednesday, Musk encouraged his followers to contact their members of Congress.

"Call your Senator, Call your Congressman, Bankrupting America is NOT ok!" Musk wrote. "KILL the BILL."

Musk's posts came soon after Trump reminded his followers on Truth Social that the world's richest man was no longer a government employee.

The post represents an escalation from just a day earlier, when Musk labeled the "One Big Beautiful Bill" a "disgusting abomination."

"I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore," the billionaire said. "This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."

House Speaker Mike Johnson has suggested that Musk was angry because the bill would end subsidies for electric vehicles.
