Musk's 'yeah, yeah' spectacle: Social media pans rambling Trump interview

After being plagued by technical problems for nearly half an hour, the livestream interview between former President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk went live, covering topics including the assassination attempt on the former president, immigration, inflation and the Russian war against Ukraine.

Many commenters on social media, including Musk's own X website, panned the spectacle, with many noting Musk had next to nothing to contribute to the conversation, simply agreeing with everything the slurring and rambling Trump said.

"This could've been an email," wrote the anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project.

"He's just repeating his rally speech punctuated by Musk saying 'yeah, yeah,'" wrote former Naval War College professor Tom Nichols.

"Trump just told Musk - again - that people are coming into our country from 'mental institutions,'" wrote former MSNBC contributor Mehdi Hasan. "He definitely, and hilariously/ignorantly, has confused political asylum with mental asylum."

"We are seeing elon musk lose respect for trump in real time lmao," wrote the account "Business Goose."

"Elon Musk is so good at saying 'yeah' to the President," wrote the account @BltzkrgErlich.

"Most liked tweet on Elon Musk and Donald Trump chat: Nick Fuentes. A self proclaimed neo Nazi that had dinner at Mar-a-Lago with Donald Trump. Sums it up perfectly," wrote the account @_michelangelo__.
