Even Republicans have a problem with one thing Donald Trump is doing, a former ambassador to South Africa said Saturday.
Ambassador Patrick Gaspard, who recently called Trump a liar, appeared on MSNBC over the weekend, where he was asked about Trump's immigration policies.
Gaspard states, "We have Republican senators, Republican congress members who are standing up and saying that it is wrong to take away asylum from people from nations like Venezuela, for instance, where you have a democracy crisis in that country and instead grant it to a group of South Africans who clearly are not being persecuted and violated in any way whatsoever."

Later in the same interview, Gaspard again highlights the Republican pushback.
"So this is not just a Democratic thing. It's not just a progressive thing. Even Republicans are deeply troubled by how Donald Trump is upending well-established statutes that we have and procedures that we have that have made the United States the shining beacon for those who are fleeing persecution in other parts of the world."
