It's time to quit the real-time D.C. follies and get to the peoples' work.
That's essentially the sentiment that Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) expressed to reporters on Wednesday.
"Entertainment is not governance," the Pennsylvania senator said as in his Republican rebuke, taking moments to peek at his phone. "That's what they believe over there."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
The call to action comes on the same day that Rep. Jim Jordan's (R-OH) suffered another setback as he, once again, failed to secure 217 votes to shore up the Speaker of the House post.
The second vote to crown Jordan proved futile once the surnames beginning with "G" showed that the Ohio congressman was short 11 votes.
The day before Jordan lost the first ballot after 20 Republicans fought back against his nomination.
Some voted for Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) who had already bowed out of the race for the position for being unable to earn enough support. Other votes were cast for former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
Some even voted for former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY).
Fetterman is fed up with the indecision.
He called on his counterparts across the aisle to pick a winner and get back to work to deal with issues both abroad and close to home.
"It's time to just do their job," he said. "And whoever it's gonna be they need to get it together so we can deliver the kind of aid whether in Israel or even on the border as well."
He repeated: "You know, do your job and let's just get it done."
