Fox News aired a segment on Monday urging viewers to drink Anheuser-Busch products — like Bud Light — even though conservative pundits have railed against the beverage company because it sponsored a transgender influencer.
For months, conservative pundits have urged boycotts of Bud Light because of a paid sponsorship deal with Dylan Mulvaney.
But in a Fox News Fourth of July holiday segment, Folds of Honor CEO Dan Rooney surprised viewers when he revealed he was sponsored by Anheuser-Busch.
"Folds is about believing in people so they believe in themselves," Rooney explained. "Anheuser-Busch did that for me, and we kick off 13 years of a partnership with them. They've donated $22 million."
"We've got awesome new product here coming out, so people literally can crack a cold Budweiser, a Bud Light, and celebrate their freedoms, but also provide educational scholarships to the military and first responder families who have sacrificed so much for the freedoms that we enjoy," he added. "That's a great, easy way to say I love my country is crack a cold Budweiser and support a military or first responder family."
Fox News host Steve Doocy did not mention the ongoing boycott.
