Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has been in the news lately for his advocacy against ex-House speaker Kevin McCarthy, which led to McCarthy's ouster and a fractured GOP conference unable to pick a new House lead for Republicans, but now he's in another fight with another fellow conservative.
Gaetz, who recently sidestepped Raw Story's questions about how Jim Jordan could possibly get the magic number of votes when Steve Scalise already failed to do so, picked up on a report showing that "Another US Congressman has traded stocks before the start of the Middle East Conflict, stocks that benefit directly from war."
The report then continued:
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
"Senator Markwayne Mullin disclosed purchasing up to $50,000 of Raytheon, $RTX, on Sept 13. He sits on the Committee of Armed Services."
Mullin is in fact a Republican like Gaetz. But earlier this month, Mullin accused Gaetz of "making a lewd remark about South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem’s appearance," according to a news report.
On Friday, Gaetz shared the allegations against Mullin and wrote, "Seems Senator Mullin has been cashing in on public office."
"Very disappointing. I had hoped for better from him," Gaetz added.
