President Donald Trump started Wednesday Morning by railing against “incompetent” California Governor Gavin Newsom.

“The INCOMPETENT Governor of California was unable to provide protection in a timely manner when our Ice Officers, GREAT Patriots they are, were attacked by an out of control mob of agitators, troublemakers, and/or insurrectionists. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

Trump has been hurling insults at Newsom since the weekend after immigration protests took Los Angeles by storm.

The President has sent in 4,000 National Guard officers and 700 Marines to quell the protests, which have turned into looting and rioting in the overnight hours.

On Monday, Trump floated the idea of arresting Newsom. Border Czar Tom Homan has publicly said he will not arrest the governor.

Newsom, for his part, has traded blows with Trump. On Monday, the governor slammed Trump in a social media post, saying that the troops he sent to Los Angeles had no food or a place to stay.

Newsom has also said “democracy is under assault” because of Trump’s move to send in troops.
