California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom defended President Joe Biden's economic record during an exclusive Monday night interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
According to Barron's, "Biden's first two years in office were the strongest two years of job growth on record in U.S. history. The overall size of the labor market has now more than recovered from the downturn caused by the COVID-19 recession."
Newsom noted as much in his discussion with Hannity, who dwelled on former President Donald Trump's job performance.

"I have great confidence in his leadership and what he's been able to accomplish," Newsom said of Biden.
"I don't want him to fail. I think his policies are failing," Hannity replied.
"CHIPS Act, Science Act, do you oppose that?" Newsom asked.
"I will tell you on every measure from the economy, inflation, borders, energy, national security, he's missing in action," Hannity claimed.

"Let's talk about them in order. Hang on. Wait, wait. Let, I wanna challenge the premise. You said the economy? 13.1 million jobs he's created more..." Newsom began to explain. But Hannity interrupted.
"These are post-COVID jobs. You know that Well, I mean, that, that's an artificial number," Hannity snipped.
Newsom fired right back.
"No, no, no. Then let me just, let me stipulate this as an, as an opportunity to engage civilly on this. Your president, Donald Trump, lost 2.6 million jobs during his four years. We've created 13.1 million. Fine. You can maintain a COVID frame. How about the fact that Joe Biden's created more jobs, six times more jobs than the previous three Republican presidents combined? Combined!" the governor exclaimed.
"Are you gonna tell me that the average family where we have two-thirds of Americans now living paycheck to paycheck..." Hannity tried to rebut.
"It was, was seventy percent under Trump. It was seventy percent. It was seventy percent under Donald Trump living paycheck to paycheck," Newsom stated.
"Pre-COVID, we had the lowest unemployment rate for every demographic," Hannity argued.
"We have the Black lowest unemployment in history and you and I are living with the lowest unemployment we had in our lifetime, Sean. You can't make that up," Newsom noted.
"We had every demographic, and the economy was humming along," Hannity insisted.
"Black unemployment's record low under Joe Biden," Newsom reiterated.
"Okay. We had historic low after historic low under Donald Trump," Hannity repeated.
"Donald Trump," Newsom scoffed. "I mean, but, he's cleaned Trump's clock, Biden, in terms of the progressing job creation. Look at what he's done on jobs."
