Donald Trump again lashed out at his former White House chief of staff, who said the former president meets the "definition of a fascist."
Kelly blasted his old boss in a series of recorded interviews with the New York Times, which he told the publication were spurred by Trump’s recent threats to use the military on the “enemy from within.”
Among the startling details included Kelly’s report that Trump once stated he needed “the kind of generals that Hitler had” and that the former president “met the definition of a fascist.” Another article in The Atlantic reported that Trump became irate and backed out of paying for the funeral of Vanessa Guillen, an Army private who was beaten to death and burned by a fellow soldier.
Trump — who erupted at Kelly on Wednesday — lashed out again Friday and shared a screenshot of a former colleague discrediting the story.
"John Kelly’s tarnished reputation keeps getting worse! He is a STONE COLD LOSER, always has been, and I’m glad I didn’t have him involved with the ISIS Caliphate, which I won in record setting time. If he was involved, we would have lost!" Trump wrote on his app, Truth Social.

He attached a screenshot of a post on X from Keith Kellogg, who called Vice President Kamala Harris a "fraud" and said he was a senior level position in the White House "much longer than General Kelly."
"He is complicit in this fraud and has lied to the American people," said Kellogg. "His lies, as well as John Bolton's, are a disservice to Nation at this critical time. So are the VP's.
The comments come after Trump on Wednesday called Kelly a "total degenerate."
“Thank you for your support against a total degenerate named John Kelly, who made up a story out of pure Trump Derangement Syndrome Hatred! This guy had two qualities, which don’t work well together. He was tough and dumb. The problem is his toughness morphed into weakness, because he became JELLO with time!" Trump wrote in the post.
Kelly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for over 40 years and retired as a four-star general. His statements were based on direct observations during his time in the White House and align with those of other former Trump administration officials, including Mark Milley, a retired Army general and former chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, who has also called his old boss a "fascist to the core."
