Disgraced former Rep. George Santos (R-NY) said he didn't want to return to Congress after the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to expel him on Friday.
And now, thanks to the work of Capitol Hill security officers, Santos couldn't come back even if he wanted to.
C-SPAN communications director Howard Mortman on Friday afternoon posted a video showing Capitol security officers changing the locks on Santos' office to ensure that he and his staff will be unable to access it again.
The entire procedure takes a speedy two minutes to complete -- and ends with the door officially closing on Santos' ill-fated and short-lived political career.
Santos came under fire shortly after being elected last year when multiple reports revealed that he fabricated entire parts of his life story, including his academic career, his work history, and even his claims of Jewish heritage.
Santos has since been criminally charged with counts ranging from wire fraud, money laundering, making false statements to Congress, and theft of public funds.
In addition to all this, a damning report from the House Ethics Committee issued last month found that Santos had defrauded campaign donors by using their money to buy himself Botox and online pornography, among other inappropriate expenses.
