Disgraced former Congressman George Santos (R-NY) is reportedly participating in a documentary that's being made chronicling his saga of lies and alleged criminality, The New York Times reported.
The film is being produced by documentarian Jenner Furst, who told The Times that Santos will profit from the project in the form of an archival materials fee and is aware that critics might object to Santos making money from his story, but says that the project will actually help Santos' alleged victims get justice.
“The only way that people can get their money back is somehow for there to be money created, to put money in their hands,” Furst said.
Santos still faces 23 felony counts that include wire fraud, money laundering and aggravated identity theft.

“There is the illusion that there’s good people and bad people,” Furst, who said in a past interview. “Ultimately, there still is truth. And I am committed to truth. And somehow, as someone committed to truth in a post-truth era, I don’t think I can be as religiously attached to the existence of truth anymore.”
Furst, who made a similar deal with Fyre Festival organizer Billy McFarland for the documentary “Fyre Fraud,”told The Times that he's not concerned about Santos being truthful.
“He could sit and tell me lies the entire time. Ultimately, based on my ability to bear out the truth around him, … that becomes pure entertainment," he said.
