A former federal prosecutor is sounding the alarm over President Donald Trump's speech to the military's top brass, which he called "depraved and demeaning."

Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth spoke on Tuesday at a hastily organized meeting of America's top military leaders. Trump called on America's military to use force to quell domestic disturbances and to treat American cities like "training grounds." Hegseth gave a performative speech, which a Fox News host said looked like something that would be seen in China or North Korea.

Kirschner shared his thoughts about the meeting in a new episode of his podcast, "Justice Matters."

"Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth beclowned himself in front of our nation's military leadership, both officer and enlisted, acting like he was talking to a bunch of 12-year-old kids who had absolutely no idea of what honorable military service and loyalty to the Constitution look like," Kirschner said.

"And then even worse, Donald Trump, looking and sounding like he was suffering from full-blown dementia, tried to pit the United States military against the American people, saying that the American people are the 'enemy from within' and telling the military leadership that they should use American cities as military training grounds," he added.

"Can you imagine anything more depraved, more demeaning of our military members, or more dangerous to the American people than a U.S. president spewing that kind of garbage into the public square?" he continued.
