The "God's Army" trucker convoy intended to protest the influx of migrants entering the United States on the southern border has largely been a bust so far, with attendance well below its organizers' hopes.
What's more, The Daily Beast reports that the convoy this week more or less degenerated into a vigil to honor the imprisoned "patriots" who violently stormed the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021.
One notable figure at the convoy is Joshua Macias, who in 2020 went to a polling site in Philadelphia armed with an AR-15 rifle and a Samurai sword in the name of ensuring the "integrity" of the vote.
Macias was also at the Capitol on January 6th, although he insists he never went into the building itself and has not been arrested or charged with any crimes related to the riots.

Nonetheless, he described himself as "one of the J6ers" while speaking to convoy attendees, which led one woman to declare, "This gentleman is a J6er" and "a hero."
She went on to declare that "I’m here to tell you there are over 1,200 Patriots locked up" for committing crimes related to the riots.
The group even chanted the name of Ashli Babbitt, the Trump supporter who was fatally shot by a police officer after she tried to breach the congressional chamber.
"Say her name!" shouted one man, according to The Daily Beast. "Murdered by the D.C. metro police. Ashli Babbitt! Never forget her! Rest in peace."
