A GOP lawmaker's interview on Fox News instantly backfired Sunday after he uncorked a wild claim about the difference between Democrats and Republicans.
Rep. Dan Meuser (R-PA) joined Fox News to discuss the upcoming midterm elections and argue that voters should support Republicans. At one point, Meuser attempted to draw a contrast between the two parties that flatlined among political analysts and observers.
"What are Republicans going to do if you keep Congress in control?" the interviewer asked.
"Essentially, all the positives," Meuser said, noting that Republicans would focus on growing investment in the U.S. and increasing energy production. "It's economic strength, national security, and it's common sense. You put the Democrats in charge, boys will be in the girls' locker rooms."
Meuser's claim caused a stir on social media.
"If you put Republicans in charge, you will get wars no one wants, out-of-control price increases, rate increases, and ICE agents murdering Americans in our streets. This is an easy choice," Tim Fullerton, founder of Find Out Media and a former Obama administration staffer, posted on X.
"Doubtful," Leslie Marshall, a Democratic strategist, posted on X.
"If you put Republicans in charge, grown Republican men will be in girl's locker rooms," Thomas Pain, a political commentator who goes by "Tea Pain" online, posted on X.
" Trump is already in girls' dressing rooms. Teen pageant dressing rooms," Cheri Jacobus, a political strategist, posted on X.
