MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace, a former Republican, addressed new reporting that a Justice Department pardon lawyer was ousted for refusing to support restoring Mel Gibson's gun rights after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge in a domestic violence incident.
Gibson — President Donald Trump's pick for "ambassador" to Hollywood — reportedly sought to restore his gun rights.
Former pardon lawyer Elizabeth G. Oyer said in a 15-minute conversation that a DOJ official “approached the line of bullying." Oyer's spokesperson said no specific threats were made.
MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace called it just another in a long line of those connected to President Donald Trump linked to abuse, assault or other violence toward women.
