This hospital guard went viral after giving a raging ‘Karen’ a taste of her own medicine – then he got fired

A GoFundMe has been set up for an Oklahoma hospital security guard who was fired after he confronted a white woman who was screaming in the face of a Black woman in an incident that was caught on video.

Although the incident happened months ago, the video was posted within recent weeks and has garnered millions of views. Speaking to Fox 23, the security guard, Jose Martinez, said that he was fired as a result.

"I was heartbroken. I would have been there six years in January," he said, adding he stands by his actions and that he had multiple interactions with the woman.

"She started getting confrontational with patients in the lobby; saying some rude stuff and being very mean," he said.

The man who recorded the video said the white woman started screaming at the Black woman for no apparent reason. "Literally nothing," he says in a TikTok video. "And just yelling and screaming… it was so intense for no reason."

As of this writing, the GoFundMe for Martinez has reached just over $5,000 of its $10,000 goal.

"I'm experiencing something new, and something that I've never experienced before," he said. "It's crazy how it got my job taken away from me, but at the same time, the support, that's something that I've never experience before. I used to think that with my 10 or 20 likes on Facebook, I was popular. This is a whole new level of being so loved and cared for. The support is unbelievable."
