If Joe Biden loses against Donald Trump in 2024, it will be the fault of Democrats who started eating their own, according to a former GOP lawmaker.
Former Republican representative David Jolly (FL) appeared on MSNBC's Alex Witt Reports on Sunday, and was asked about the recent actions of Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who recently endorsed a protest vote against the current president.
"How much could the opposition, in general, from within his own party, hurt President Biden in the campaign?" the host asked.

These voices, Jolly says, "could defeat Joe Biden."
"I want to be an optimist, I don't like being a sour puss, but if you want to see Trump beat Joe Biden, and you have Tlaib and Charlamagne questioning Joe Biden's leadership saying he is not fit for reelection, that's how you do it," he said, referencing rapper-turned-podcaster Charlamagne tha God, who recently called Biden an "uninspiring candidate."
"That's how you do it. Democrats beating themselves," he added. "Right now, Democrats have been given a historic opportunity with an alliance of independents and disaffected Republicans that showed up at the Democratic coalition in 18, 20, and 22. you're telling me going into 2024 that a sitting Democratic congresswoman, and a leading voice on the left are going to say, 'We don't know about our guy, maybe we shouldn't support him.' That is a bunch of hot garbage, Alex. If those voices don't fall in line, don't expect the coalition to be there in November that you need to defeat Donald Trump."
The host then transitions to discuss the big win of Thomas Suozzi, who now holds the seat of George Santos, who was ejected from the House.
