GOP sends curt message to wary major groups: Get on board or get lost

Republican staffers on the House Agriculture Committee are warning industry groups to either rally behind the committee’s slashing of $300 billion in nutrition spending – or risk getting shut out entirely, according to a new report in Politico.

That was the message from the House committee’s policy director, Trevor White, who sent an email Tuesday urging agricultural lobbying groups to publicly support the GOP’s sweeping bill, or risk the possibility of receiving none of the $60 billion in farming investments tied to the legislation, Politico reported.

WSJ's editors in disbelief at Republican's crusade against 'vast toothpaste conspiracy'

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is launching a bizarre crusade against Big Toothpaste — and it's left the conservative editorial board of the Wall Street Journal scratching their heads.

MTG takes friendly fire in MAGA spat: 'Jewish Space Laser lady doesn't have a clue'

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Mike Lawler (R-NY) got into a bitter, public fight on social media on Wednesday over President Donald Trump's sweeping budget bill on tax cuts, energy deregulation, and border security.

Lawler, like some other members of the New York delegation, is currently opposing the bill because it only includes a partial, rather than full, repeal of the cap on state and local tax deductions, or SALT. Republicans representing districts in higher-tax states like New York have demanded to eliminate this cap. While Republicans themselves passed it in 2018, thinking it would mostly raise revenue from Democratic-controlled states, it also amounted to a significant tax increase on wealthier homeowners who tend to back the Republican Party.
