Only two months into the 119th Congress, Democrats are already preparing an ad campaign to take a swing at the Republicans before the 2026 midterm elections.
The House Democratic caucus announced it will start running ads in key congressional districts, knocking Republicans for their budget agenda — including planned cuts to Medicaid that will affect children.

"Republicans, who are looking to slash federal spending and offer lucrative tax cuts to corporations and wealthier Americans, now see a big target ripe for trimming" with Medicaid, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.
The next cut is an effort to shrink the Affordable Care Act’s navigator program budget by 90% to $10 million, the AP said. The program was started to help people understand the healthcare marketplace and sign up to get health insurance.
The House release stated that "nearly half of all children in the United States" are on Medicaid.
The note references Former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin (R), who lost his 2019 campaign against Democrat Gov. Andy Beshear after Bevin sought to mandate work requirements or cut Medicaid expansion altogether.
