Hunter Biden is calling on the Justice Department to investigate his former business associate, Tony Bobulinski, ABC News reported Friday.

At issue are claims that Bobulinski lied to federal investigators just before the 2020 presidential election.

Hunter Biden's attorneys claimed last month that Bobulinski lied about his relationship with the Biden family "for the sake of maligning the character and reputation of [Hunter] Biden and his family, and to boost his own sense of self-worth."

Bobulinski came forward in 2020 and claimed that the Bidens had lied to the public about then-presidential candidate Joe Biden's alleged involvement in his son's overseas business prospects.

"Even in an era in which people peddle knowing lies with the goal of their falsehoods being repeated and disseminated for their political advantage, these statements by Mr. Bobulinski cannot and must not go unchecked," wrote Biden's lawyer, Abbe Lowell.

"This was all done to advance a debunked conspiracy theory that somehow Joseph Biden was involved in [Hunter] Biden's business venture with [the Chinese firm], including as Vice President," Lowell wrote.
