Federal immigration agents were seen deploying teargas during operations in Lakeview, a wealthy Chicago neighborhood.

A video circulating on social media on Friday afternoon showed an agent rolling a teargas canister out of a vehicle window as it backed away from onlookers.

Operation Midway Blitz targeted a white community where immigrants worked, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Agents were said to have detained a man near a school where elites send their children and arrested another man at the Laugh Factory comedy club.

“ICE’s un-American and undemocratic tactics of fear and intimidation in our neighborhoods are a direct attack on everything Chicago stands for — inclusion, compassion and love,” Ald. Bennett Lawson (D) told the Tribune. “We have a proud history of welcoming people of all backgrounds in our community and our commitment to those principles are stronger now than ever.”
