MSNBC legal correspondent Lisa Rubin said that her "jaw dropped" in the New York courtroom on Wednesday as the Attorney General's Office was wrapping up their questioning of Ivanka Trump, former President Donald Trump's elder daughter.

Among the many demands from Deutsche Bank is that Trump have a larger net worth than he actually had. He entered into an agreement with his adult heirs that he would take their assets to meet the requirements outlined by the bank.

"They pledged assets of their own that helped them satisfy the guarantee, which, according to Deutsche Bank, was his and his alone," Rubin said after racing out of the courtroom. "He was borrowing money from his kids' piggy banks, and I'm not sure the impact of that struck everyone in the courtroom. My jaw almost dropped. I almost dropped my phone on the floor. I was just astonished by the proof that Donald Trump was robbing Peter to pay Paul, so to speak."

After the questions, Trump's lawyers began their cross-examination of the eldest Trump daughter.

Emails revealed in court showed she made over $4 million on her work on the Old U.S. Post Office property. The Trumps made over $139 million off the deal.

Then, while in the White House, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, made $640 million.

It included "$13 million from the hotel since 2017, dropping from about $4 million a year between 2017 and 2019 to about $1.5 million [in 2020], at least in part due to the pandemic," reported the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) in 2021.
