Jack Smith's shirt sends Fox News into a frenzy: 'Pretty rich for that guy!'

Fox News personalities lashed out at former special counsel Jack Smith for wearing a "No Kings" shirt, with one guest falsely claiming the move was "pretty rich" because Smith had tried to overturn an election.

Fox News host Harris Faulkner brought up the shirt during Monday's broadcast of "The Faulkner Focus." She scoffed at the idea that Smith "had time" for the outing.

Her guest, conservative podcast host Ben Ferguson, accused Smith of hypocrisy for wearing it.

"By the way, former special counsel Jack Smith had time to do this. He was wearing a 'No Kings' shirt to a music festival on Saturday. That was just days after Congress pressed him on his controversial investigation into President Trump," Faulkner told viewers.

Smith wore a black tour shirt from rock singer Bruce Springsteen, with "No Kings" printed across the bottom, at the Power to the People Fest in Columbia, Maryland, The Washington Times reported. The slogan has become the rallying cry of nationwide protests against President Donald Trump.

"Yeah. I … you know, I love the 'No Kings' shirt, by the way. For a guy that tried to overthrow the will of the people and overturn an actual election, it's pretty rich for that guy to be saying 'No Kings,'" Ferguson replied.

Smith's investigation led to an August 2023 indictment of Trump over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. He testified about those cases before the Senate Judiciary Committee last Tuesday.

Faulkner's remarks about Smith came late in a segment that opened with warnings about progressive Democrats running in the midterm elections, which she said are 29 days away.

"That's Republican House Majority Whip Tom Emmer warning voters about the far-left candidates taking over the Democrat [sic] Party. Many are running on abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, huge tax hikes, government-run socialized health care, taxpayer-funded college, radical changes to the U.S. Supreme Court, the Green New Deal. Yep," Faulkner said after airing a clip of Emmer, a Minnesota Republican.

"This is where they are, and this is what they're proud to be saying over and over again," Ferguson said of the candidates.

Ferguson then claimed that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a Democrat, wants the United States to join the International Criminal Court.

"This is destroying America. It is trying to make sure that America doesn't exist in the capacity it is now. And notice all of them, there's one thing in common, one theme here, Harris, and that is if they can destroy what we have, every single one of these socialists, they gain more power in office than they've ever had before," Ferguson said.

Faulkner then turned to musicians who bring politics to their shows, saying country singer Zach Bryan wore a "Free Palestine" T-shirt twice while performing at Gillette Stadium.

"Most concertgoers pay to hear the music, but they're getting left-wing political stunts and lectures instead," Faulkner said shortly before raising Smith's shirt.

"But if I go to a concert, I am not there to get a political lecture. This is to go enjoy time," Ferguson said after his remarks about Smith.

"And look, I think there's gonna be a cause and effect here. I have a feeling some of these individuals, it's gonna hurt their career. If they wanna risk that, that's on them," he added.
