Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) is pushing Republicans to stop their effort to impeach President Joe Biden following a revelation that one of Republicans' key witnesses was arrested for allegedly making false statements to investigators.
Earlier on Thursday, an informant who made derogatory claims about Biden and his son Hunter was arrested by the FBI after a grand jury charged him with false statements and obstruction, reported Politico. The witness had claimed Biden was behind a massive bribery scheme, but reportedly changed his story after pressing from investigators.
That led the internet to troll James Comer, who has led the inquiry into Biden.

CNN caught up with Raskin to ask about his take on the arrest.
Manu Raju reported:
"Rep. Jamie Raskin, top Democrat on House Oversight, said this in the wake of news of the indictment of a key witness in GOP’s probe: 'I formally call on Speaker Johnson, Chairman Comer, and House Republicans to stop promoting this nonsense and end their doomed impeachment inquiry.'"
Neither Jordan nor Comer appear to have issued a public statement regarding the arrest and criminal charges, but legal experts have suggested it is extremely damaging to their case for taking Biden down.
