A man sought by authorities in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol was arrested Thursday near former President Barack Obama’s Washington D.C. home, CBS News reports.
Taylor Taranto, 37 of Seattle, Washington, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice according to the Metropolitan Police Department, the report said.
Taranto was arrested after Secret Service officers spotted a man within blocks of the former president’s home, according to the report.
Taranto tried to flee and was running toward Obama’s home when Secret Service officers apprehended him.
Law enforcement sources told the news outlet that Taranto had previously made threats against a public figure on social media.
