President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly considering a House Democratic member to lead the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA.
Trump could nominate Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) to replace FEMA Director Deanne Criswell, CNN's Steve Contorno reported Monday.
Moskowitz previously served as head of Florida Emergency Management, leading responses to hurricanes and the COVID-19 pandemic.
"He's worked incredibly hard and done a terrific job," Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) said after Moskowitz announced he was stepping down from the position in 2021.

Early this year, the Democratic lawmaker condemned a FEMA employee accused of avoiding helping "politically hostile" homes that displayed Trump signs.
"As a former emergency manager, I was appalled to hear about a FEMA supervisor discriminating against hurricane victims based on political beliefs," Moskowitz wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "I am glad the person was fired, and I support an investigation. We can never allow disaster response to become politicized."
